When we first heard about the Jasper book, I was expecting a usual childrens story book. Instead came to us a text book sized beautifully illustrated story book!

Jasper is a story which follows the adventures of a mule from foal to adulthood and the lessons he learns along the way. Jasper has a few human and animal companions in his adventures and he learns valuable things about friendship, loss, cooperation, and other valuable skills. Jasper has to cope with such things as being sold and taken away from his mother, to coping with a nasty barn fire at his new home.

This is a story that shows mules in a favorable light, even though some people have different opinions of them. Even if you have no experience with mules, I think everyone from children to adults should have a little Jasper in their lives and check out the book because it is a story that every family member can enjoy and learn from.
